Training in precision agriculture, hydroponics, microgreens and smart farming

Practical, field-based courses for government departments, NGOs, international organisations and growers, taught by the engineers and agronomists who build the drones and run the surveys.

  • 4training tracks, from drones to indoor farms
  • 2020multispectral UAV supplied to KP Crop Reporting Services
  • 5 bandsblue, green, red, red edge and near-infrared in our survey payload
  • 3 audiencesgovernment, NGOs and INGO programmes

Four tracks, one practical approach

Every course mixes short explanations with hands-on work: flying and mapping in the field, mixing and measuring nutrient solution, sowing a tray, reading a dashboard. Choose one track, or combine them into a programme for your team.

Precision agriculture and drone mapping

For teams who need to turn aerial and satellite data into decisions: crop area estimation, crop health, stand counts and variable-rate inputs.

  1. Why fields varySoil, water and management variability; where precision farming pays and where it does not.
  2. Sensors and indicesRGB versus multispectral, NDVI and NDRE, and what each can and cannot show.
  3. Safe flight planning and operationsMission design, overlap and altitude, weather limits, checklists and local airspace rules.
  4. From images to mapsOrthomosaics, elevation models, plant counts and change detection in common GIS software.
  5. Zones and prescription mapsSplitting a field into management zones and preparing variable-rate files for sprayers and spreader drones.
  6. Verify and reportGround-truthing, follow-up flights and clear reports for farmers and decision-makers.

Training for government, NGOs and international organisations

We design programmes for institutions that need many people trained well, in the field and in the classroom, and that need results they can report.

Government departments

Agriculture extension, crop reporting, irrigation, planning and survey offices. Staff learn to plan flights, process imagery, estimate crop area and use satellite dashboards for routine reporting.

NGOs and community groups

Livelihood, youth and women's programmes. Low-cost options such as microgreens and small hydroponic units that can be started in a home, school or community space.

INGOs and development programmes

Baseline surveys, monitoring and evaluation, and training of trainers across districts, with clear learning outcomes and records of participation for donor reporting.

What we can tailor

  • Training of trainers, so your own staff can teach the next group
  • Field days and demonstrations at partner farms or project sites
  • Curricula adapted to your crops, region and the audience's experience
  • Classroom, on-site and blended delivery, in Urdu, Pashto or English
  • Pre- and post-training assessment and a short outcome report

How an engagement runs

  1. Step 1

    Needs assessment

We agree who is being trained, why, and what they should be able to do afterwards.

  2. Step 2

    Curriculum design

Modules, field exercises and materials are chosen for your crops and conditions.

  3. Step 3

    Delivery

Short theory sessions followed by hands-on practice with real equipment and data.

  4. Step 4

    Assessment and follow-up

Practical checks, a summary report and support for the first live projects.

Taught by people who build and fly the systems

Our training draws on working projects, not slides alone. The same team designs the drones, writes the analytics and runs field operations.

Main work

  • Multispectral mapping drones built in-house, with multispectral and RGB sensors for crop identification, health and land measurement
  • Agro-drone for spraying designed for up to 20 kg per sortie at about 6 to 7 hectares an hour (design specification)
  • Fixed-wing survey drones for large-area reporting
  • AI software for crop identification, leaf disease and locust detection from drone images
  • AgriSense, our Sentinel-2 dashboard for crop health, soil estimates and early warnings
  • Hydroponic and microgreen system design, nutrient programmes and monitoring

Previous work and partners

In 2020 the Directorate of Crop Reporting Services, Agriculture Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, issued OREL Vision a supply order for a multispectral UAV to estimate the planted area of the province's major crops.
